The struggle is real for tall guys.
I don’t mean bonking our heads on low-hanging light fixtures that came out of nowhere! Or ducking under the showerhead like an Olympian receiving a gold medal. Or being asked to grab items on the top shelf for sweet old ladies at Target. (The Law of the Giants states we must abide if they ask).
What’s more of an annoyance than any of those things is finding clothes that fit. How many times have you been ready to pull the trigger on a new shirt or pair of pants, only to learn that the vendor doesn’t carry your size? It’s an all-too-familiar predicament.
That’s why we’ve compiled this list of the absolute best tall clothing stores for men. No more “flood pants.” No more belly button reveals every time you stretch your arms overhead. No more looking like you washed your whole wardrobe in hot water.
We’ve included nearly 30 vendors with links for you to bookmark so you have plenty of options to find stuff that fits. (If you’re looking for women’s clothing, check out our post on the Best Tall Women’s Clothing Stores).
Without further ado, here are the best tall men’s clothing stores:
Best Tall Men's Clothing Stores
American Tall makes “fitted, slim clothes” for tall men (6’3–7’1). They carry an array of shirts, jeans, jackets, sweaters, polos, jeans, shorts, athletic wear and more. While their designs are more tailored than a standard fit, they’re perhaps less snug to the body than a more typical “slim fit.” A notable exception is the AT Performance Tall Athletic Jersey Tee. It’s a lightweight, moisture-wicking polyester tee that hugs your frame like a true slim fit. Bonus: American Tall offers free shipping to North America on order of $60 or more and free store credit on returns or exchanges.
ASOS plc is a British online fashion and cosmetic retailer primarily aimed at young adults. The brand prides itself on being fashion-forward, ethically sourced, and LGBTQ-friendly. ASOS carries swimwear, suits, activewear, loungewear, sweaters and cardigans, and everything in between. They carry both extra-long sizes and big and tall sizes for men’s shirts and suits. You can find some of their jeans and chinos in up to a 38-inch inseam.
Under the GAP Umbrella, Banana Republic prides itself on creating more modern, upscale clothing, especially for office professionals. Though much of the world is now working from home, Banana Republic has still managed to thrive post-pandemic due in part to its commitment to better quality than comparable vendors. As for taller men, Banana Republic does have a nice selection of button-ups, polos, sweaters, chinos, shorts, and more that have been designed with taller frames in mind. However, consider that most of Banana Republic’s tall clothing is designed for men in the 6’2’–6’4” range. Anyone taller than that might want to look elsewhere for aptly fitting threads.
Named for a pygmy chimpanzee, this upscale, e-commerce-driven apparel company is a subsidiary of Walmart, headquartered in New York City. They boast an array of year-round men’s apparel, including lightweight suits, swimwear, chinos and golf threads. They offer pants in five different fits, ranging from skinny to straight, in up to a 36-inch inseam. They also offer select shirts and polos in extended sizes, albeit primarily in standard fits.
This U.K.-based online fashion retailer aimed at 16–30-year-olds has a growing line of apparel tailored to men with bigger builds. They carry an array of pastel shades, jacquard prints, varsity hoodies, cargo sweatpants, tracksuits and more, with sizes up to 5XL. If you’re eyeing a more narrowed fit, their Long Sleeve Slim Fit Jersey Shirt might be more in your wheelhouse.
If you’re a tall man in need of work clothes for your job in construction or any other field that requires you to work with your hands, Cahartt is worth checking out. Most of their clothes are branded with the Carhartt logo but that logo symbolizes quality for many. From heavy-duty jackets and work boots to hiking and fishing gear, Carhartt is a one-stop-shop for manly men.
Founded over a century ago, Champion specializes in activewear, but they’re also stocked with a seemingly endless supply of loungewear. Tall guys can find tees, hoodies, sweats and tons more in sizes XLT–6XLT. We found Champion’s apparel to fit a little boxier, which is something to keep in mind if you’re seeking a slim, tailored cut.
Though not a designated “tall apparel” company, Australia’s largest global retailer, Cotton On, does carry a nice selection of “Longline” t-shirts that are ideal for taller guys. Better yet, they offer some of these styles in up to 6XL for bigger fellas. Free delivery on orders over $50.
Cutter and Buck
Are you a golfer? This one’s for you. Founded in 1990, Cutter and Buck manufactures upscale clothing for golf and other sports. The company sells its apparel in over twenty-five countries around the world, and all of their garments are mindfully engineered with moisture wicking and UPF for sun protection. And Cutter and Buck’s Big & Tall range has taller gentleman covered—polos, tees, shorts, jackets, sweaters, long-sleeves, and tons more. The best part is their clothing is available in both “Big” sizes and “Tall” sizes. So tall, slim men can find exactly what they need, without that dreaded extra fabric bunching up around the waist.
Dickies, the largest manufacturer of workwear in the world, is best known for its polyester work pant—a staple in countless American factories. Beyond that, Dickies’ garments are every bit as comfortable as they are durable. Fortunately for taller gentleman, they’ve applied the same treatment to their Big & Tall line, which includes shirts, pants, jeans, shorts and outerwear in sizes up to 7XLT in tops and 72 in bottoms.
When you think Dockers, you probably think pleated khaki pants. But this vendor has actually cranked out an impressive spread of men’s clothing suitable for all purposes. Since its inception in 1986, Dockers has operated under the premise that size shouldn’t come at the expense of style. So, as you can imagine, Dockers has one of the most robust big and tall lines on the market. Dockers shirts and tees run up to LT-6XLT.
Founded in 1969, GAP has become one of the most iconic, lower-cost apparel brands out there. While GAP doesn’t offer a “Big” selection, they more than make up for it with their “Tall” range. However, in our experience, GAP’s “Tall” offerings don’t quite cater to skinny men the way many vendors do. It’s more of an “athletic” fit than a “slim fit.” If possible, we recommend trying on GAP’s tall garments in-store to ensure the best possible fit.
Since its inception in 1900, Hanes has created some of the most comfortable loungewear on the market. Hanes’ simple cotton-blended tees are about as minimalist as it gets, but they get the job done. The brand’s big and tall offerings include tees, shorts, and even underwear and pajamas available in sizes up to 6XL.
This German luxury fashion enterprise features everything from clothing to footwear to cologne to accessories. After founder Hugo Boss’ death in 1948, the company shifted its focus to men’s suits. Their Big & Tall collection does an excellent job of actually tailoring clothing to taller men in a way that’s proportionate to their size, rather than just adding more fabric to the waist and sleeves. Their collection spans everything up to and including 6XL. Hit them up for button-ups, t-shirts, polos, jeans and more.
J.Crew is a staple in the fashion industry and luckily many of their trendy clothes come in tall sizes. Better yet, if you’re a tall slim guy, they have you covered with slim-fit sizes as well. To quickly see what J.Crew has to offer you, use the filter on the left-hand menu to select one of the tall sizes. While J.Crew does have physical stores, their tall sizes are only available online. King Size bill themselves as “the big and tall experts,” so unsurprisingly, they feature a huge selection of longer-length tees, tanks, and more. One of the first big and tall menswear brands in the nation, King Size’s longer length tees, tanks, henleys and more run up to 8XL. Note: if you’re looking for slim-fitting tall clothing, King Size apparel tends to have a wider, looser fit.

Bean should be on your shortlist as one of the top tall men’s clothing brands.

Its Trim Fit Non-Iron Dress Shirt is a hot-seller, with sizes up to 20, 38. Most tops can be found online in sizes up to 3XLT.

Tall folks like the outdoors too. And thankfully, Patagonia is a perfect option for finding pants long enough to hike in. Late summer nights by the campfire are the best, but they’re even better when your ankles aren’t getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Patagonia’s “long” options are also durable and waterproof—exactly what you want when you’re trekking through the backcountry. And, as far as outdoor apparel goes, their styles rank among the best tall men’s clothing options on the market.
The UK-based River Island is best known for its collection of trendy yet affordable threads. They’ve been known to take some of their best-selling pieces and adapt them for taller frames, with sizes up to 4XL available. Consider. River Island a sneaky-good find for tall men’s clothing.

Known the world over for their signature red, white and blue patterns, Tommy carries everything from t-shirts, shirts, polos, hoodies, shorts, pants and more in sizes up to 5XLT. Their clothes generally fall on the preppy side, so if yacht rock is your thing, browse Tommy to find a wardrobe to match.
Founded in Saint-Tropez, France, in the 1970s, Vilebrequin channels the flavor of this vibrant French Riviera town in all of its garments. Their hottest sellers are always men’s swimwear, but they also offer upscale “vacation-wear” for the frequent traveler. While their threads are well-made and stylish, they certainly aren’t cheap. Prepare to throw down $300 for a pair of swim trunks. As for big and tall offerings, Vilebrequin only has one item to offer: a cotton voile shirt. That said, it is a versatile piece. It comes in 10 radiant colors and could be dressed up for the office or dressed down and unbuttoned for the beach. It’s available in up to a 6XL.
